Loving Lots of Babies...

Amidst camps and day camps, there are also many who will go to the baby hospital in Ludus to hold, pray over, sing to, and play with the abandoned babies and toddlers there.

These friends of ours are posting their month long visit on a blog of their own. If you would like to read about their time in Romania and what God is doing... you can go to www.aggiesinromania.blogspot.com.

Teamwork...

We learned about perseverance and learning to run the race of life with others this week. One of the competitions this week in our teams was using water balloon launchers and having the kids work as a team to try to catch them in parachutes! It was quite the hit! We also enjoyed walking together for ice cream snacks together. The kids have enjoyed having the team from Scotland Trinity Presbyterian here this week. They have been a great blessing as they have loved on the babies and the kids in our homes.

More from the race...

In addition to the story, verses and crafts... the "older kids" from our group homes had a wonderful time completing an even more difficult race... We are working with them, not only on learning to run the race with Jesus, but alongside each other as well... Working together on a game is a good start!

Cursa Vietii... The Race of Life!

This week in Day Camp we are Running the Race of Life together! Yesterday we started off by warming up our bodies and hearts for the race...

We then learned about Saul (Paul) who started out life with what he thought was all the rules and plays to win the race, but had to be blinded by the Lord to get him turned around and in the right race... the race towards the the prize of Christ Jesus. We learned Philippians 4:13-14 about forgetting what may be in our past and looking towards what is ahead... keeping our eyes on Christ!

Of course since we have a "race theme" this week, we have planned some funny contests and races that the teams must compete in daily... Here is part of the first day's race!

Summer Cookouts

Saturday nights in Romania during the summer are Cookout nights! This is a time for the visiting teams, interns & staff to come together, enjoy a meal, and share. It is great to have an opportunity to worship in English together and hear about what God is doing in and through each of us as we pour ourselves out for Him into the lives of these children. As you can see... we also have a lot of fun!

This summer's cookouts are very special... as we have been able to use our Hot Dog Carts that were donated by Custom Food Carts in New Jersey! They were donated for us to use to develop a small business for our teenagers to help with... but until we can figure out a way through the red tape, we are going to greatly enjoy them at our cookouts this summer! Hot Dogs for everyone!

We have quite a crowd here this week... A team from Marcus Pointe in Florida has been with us at camp this past week working with the kids from Reghin... A team from Curtis Baptist in Georgia has been with us in Day Camp with kids from Sincrai and a new team arrived just in time for the cookout from Scotland Trinity Pres. in Illinois and will be with our group homes and the babies in Ludus next week!

As we were reminded as people shared... Some plant, some water, some reap the harvest... Pray that we would be faithful to seek the moments God gives us to participate in any part of this process this summer in the lives of these kids! We know God is faithful and His word does not return void. Pray that seeds will be planted and watered faithfully... so that in God's perfect timing we will see more and more kids come to know Him personally, grow in Him, and begin to plant seeds in those around them!

More from Outward Bound...

Special time with leaders...

Learning to work as a team...

Climbing out of a comfort zone...

Trusting others and feeling loved...

Being sent home with the truth, some new found confidence and the knowledge that you are part of God's plan, that there are others who love you...that He loves you and that your hope and future are found in God's plan for you!

Camp... It is a life changing week!

A Special Mission...

On the last day of camp each week, when the kids have finished their "special agent" training... they are sent out on a special mission. This mission takes place at Outward Bound Romania in Sovata.

These kids and teens have just learned that the mission God has for us is not always easy, but that He will always be there with us as we face what comes and that He has a plan for good for us. They have to use some of what they have learned to face fears, take risks and trust others as they move through this adventure course!
