God Works... Challenges Come... God Works!

God is at work this summer in Romania! He is working in the lives of kids, staff, interns, and teams. Each week at our cookouts people share how God has worked in a childs life or in their lives during the week. It is such a blessing to watch God use all things to work for His good...

As we know... when God is working in big ways it usually doesn't come without opposition and challenges. This summer is no different... We have had no water at camp a few weeks due to dry wells and difficulty pumping the water, we have had some battles with the powers that be (CPS) here with paperwork and such, a child wandered off at the pool and was found without realizing he was lost (everyone else had been praying and looking for a while when he was found), we have had a team and an 2 interns who for different reasons were unable to fulfill their commitments to come this summer. The missing team has left us with a week scheduled for camp that we now need assistance in paying for if those children will be able to come to camp!

We have even had a few run ins with a young man who has abused many of our children and others at Ludus. He was there when we arrived for a visit this past week. He very boldly stated to me that he was in charge there and walked up the stairs unmonitored. We on the other hand were not allowed inside the building and some of our group were asked to wait at the gate because the "caregiver" in charge did not want to look for the updated list of names for our visit. Reports have been made and hopefully investigations are taking place to help keep the kids at Ludus safe.

On a sweet note... the younger children at Ludus all came out to visit with us and still had on their T-shirts and nametags from camp and told us in full detail the stories, games, crafts, who was on their team, what treats they received the final evening and more! It was so sweet to see how touched they were by a few days away from the scary place they call home.

Please pray that God will continue to work in the hearts and lives of kids this summer. Pray that He will provide over and above what we need (at least $6000) to be able to bring every child to camp! Pray that we will have water available for use at camp and that the water from the rain we have been getting will not get in the tents! Pray that God will protect the children at Ludus from further abuse and from those who seek to steal from them. Thank you so much for joining us in prayer for these needs and these precious children.

We know that in our power this is impossible, but with God all things are possible as they work into His will and his plan! We pray expectantly that God's will and our desires in this case are in alignment!
