The Christmas Parties Begin...

As always, when the Christmas season arrives, the follow up staff and volunteers become VERY busy, and this year is no exception! Last week we started the Christmas parties for all of the 400 children who we minister to throughout the year on a weekly or biweekly basis. Throughout the course of two weeks, we will be having 11 parties which will truly be one of the highlights of the year for each of the kids!

So far the Christmas parties we have already had have been a huge hit! The kids have had a great time decorating sugar cookies, doing a Christmas craft, playing lots of Christmas-themed team relay races, and dressing one lucky member of their team up as Santa or Mrs. Claus. And of course, at the end of each party, every child/teenager will be receiving a special gift that for many of them will be the only gift they receive this year. The joy they experience as they open their gifts cannot be captured by a picture or described in words. They all are so thankful not only for the tangible gifts they receive, but also for the fun time they have at their party. By the end of all the parties we have had this far, we have been thanked, hugged, and kissed countless times. It truly is a very busy time of year, but it is also one of the most rewarding times of the year.

Please pray for the staff and volunteers as we continue to party with different groups of kids that each party will be filled with the same energy as the first one was. Pray that we won’t become too busy to enjoy this special time we have with all of these very special children. We would also like to thank Muskoka Woods Sports Resort in Canada, Fundatia International Teams Romania, and New Hope Trust for their generous donations which will make it possible for each child in State care in Mures County to receive a gift!
