The Mentor Teens Get Away...

Early this year, we had the opportunity to take the teenagers in the Mentor Apartments to a town called Brasov for a “family” vacation. We were there for two fun-filled days. The first night when we arrived we went to see a movie and stayed up late playing games together. We stayed in a hotel, which was a first for some of them! The next morning was a Sunday, so we all ate breakfast and had our own church service together.

We all took turns sharing about different things in our life that we are thankful for, and it was a really neat time. That day we went sledding and then topped the day off with a swim in an indoor pool. We had a really fun time with lots of new experiences. The best part about the whole trip was not just in the things we did but also in the special time we had together. We all laughed and got along and had a great time in each other’s company.

The teenagers had great attitudes and were in great spirits. It is really exciting to see the change that has taken place in their lives over the past few years. They have grown up, matured, and learned so much about life and independence. This family vacation was truly one to remember!
